My Author Spotlight Interview!

Did you see my author interview?

Instead of posting a brand new post, I’d like to share with you an interview I did earlier this month for Holly Huntress of the Living Through Writing blog. When Holly reached out on social media looking for an interview, I jumped at the opportunity.

I had such a fun time crafting my responses to Holly’s questions, not only in written form but also through short videos. Unbeknownst to me, this was actually the first time Holly included video content in her Author Spotlight post and I am so honored to have been a part of it!

I realized that the topics in this interview are ones I hold dear to my heart but that, mostly, I have not yet talked about here on my website. Instead of re-hashing the same details on my own page, I’d like to steer you to the original post directly. While you’re there, you’ll find my answers to the following questions:

When did you first start writing?

When did you know you wanted to be an author?

Was there any author or book in particular that inspired you to write? Or a teacher/mentor?

What genre do you write?

What inspires you to write the most?

What is your favorite thing about writing?

How many books have you written? What are they called? Where can they be found/bought?

What do you write – short stories, poems, novels, novellas, blog posts etc. – and which do you enjoy writing the most?

Have you tried to go the traditional route with publishing? – (getting an agent to sell you to a publisher) How did it go?

Are you self-published? How did that go and what route did you take (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, other company)? What advice would you give to others who want to self-publish?

Who is your favorite author now? What is it you like about them?

Do you have any favorite books you recommend right now?

Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?

If any of these topics interest you, please check out Holly’s blog to read my responses. While you’re there, I imagine you may find another author interview, blog post, or even a book that may interest you. Be sure to let me know if you do!

xoxo,
DJN
